I was introduced to a new hike about a week ago. I had always hiked to the infamous fire tower the easy, quick way. This new hike however, was a bit longer and had much better views of the Shining Rock Wilderness and Cold Mountain.
The way we hiked is the short way but this way starts right when you get to the top of 276. You park in the parking lot and there is a little trail down to this gravel road and you hike all the way to the fire tower.
